Imlil Valley

Spend an idyllic day in the hills viewing the rural valley below

Begin your experience with a scenic morning drive from your Marrakech accommodation to Imlil (1,800m), a peaceful Berber village situated at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains. Then slowly make your way up to Aremd (1,920m), taking in the beauty of the apple, cherry and walnut trees as you walk along the meandering rural path. And if you happen to stop and let a donkey or a mule pass, be sure to listen out for the sounds of the cool mountain stream down below. When you reach Aremd you'll be in the highest village of the Ait Mizane ("Imlil") Valley. It's a perfect location to enjoy the stunning views of the valley below whilst being served a typical Moroccan lunch in a traditional Berber home. You'll even see Jebel Toubkal (4,167m)—North Africa's highest summit. Afterwards follow the path back down to Imlil, where your transport will pick you up and return you to your Marrakech accommodation.
